Noah Rosenberg, University of Michigan - "A Genomic Analysis of Ancestry and Migration in Native Americans"

Professor Rosenberg is Assistant Professor in the Departments of Human Genetics, Biostatistics, and Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Michigan.  His current research interests include:

(1) Human genetic variation, and inferring human genetic history from genome-wide microsatellite, insertion/deletion, and single-nucleotide polymorphisms.

(2) Gene trees and species trees, and incorporating the different signals produced by different parts of a genome into tools for phylogenetic reconstruction. More generally, studying the properties of gene genealogies in cases where lineages from several populations or species are considered.

(3) Theoretical population genetics. Recent topics of interest include the effect of gene duplication on microsatellite polymorphisms, the measurement of linkage disequilibrium using homozygosity, and the computation of the lengths of adaptive walks through spaces of DNA sequences.
