New Clusters
New Inter-field Clusters in the Department
Alongside our existing 14 sub-fields, the History Department is introducing this year three new inter-field clusters, which are intended to attract students and faculty to innovative new themes and current in the historical discipline. The aim of the new clusters are: 1) to connect to important new trends in the wider field; 2) to encourage new paths of research and teaching in the Department; and 3) to provide a forum for graduate students and faculty to meet and work together. The clusters will offer new courses, sponsor outside speakers, and convene Department-based workshops and seminars.
The three clusters are:
- Gender, Sexuality, Women: This cluster aims to build upon the considerable strengths of the Department in these intersecting areas of research. Affiliated faculty include: Robin Derby, Ellen DuBois, Andrea Goldman, Lynn Hunt, Ghislaine Lydon, Valerie Matsumoto, Katherine Norberg, Brenda Stevenson, and Mary Yeager. Contact person: Ellen Dubois (edubois@ucla.edu)

Affiliated faculty include: Stephen Aron, Kelly Lytle Hernandez, Toby Higbie, Jan Reiff, and Geoffrey Robinson. Contact person: Stephen Aron (saron@history.ucla.edu)
