Graduate Students Earn Major Fellowships
Congratulations to history graduate students Daniel Franken and Cassia Roth for earning major fellowships in Brazilian history!
Daniel Franken: The U.S. Department of Education has awarded Daniel Franken the Fulbright-Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad fellowship to Brazil for 2012-2013, for his project "Economic Development and the Biological Standard of Living in Brazil, 1860-1960."

Cassia Roth: The J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board and U.S. Department of State, as well as the National Science Foundation, have awarded Cassia Roth dissertation research grants to Brazil for 2012-2013, for her project "Maternal-Infant Health Care in Rio de Janeiro, 1850-1930."
