Yigal Carmon, President and Founder of MEMRI (The Middle East Media Research Institute), - "The Roots of the Martyrdom Phenomenon in Early Islam"
Yigal Carmon is the President and founder of the Middle East Media Research Institute, 1998 - 2007. Previously, Carmon was the Director of the Institute for the Study of Terrorism and Political Violence in Washington, DC, 1994 - 1997. He also served as advisor to Premieres Shamir and Rabin for Counter Terrorism from 1988 to 1993, acting as Chief Coordinator of Israel’s national counter-terrorist defense deployment, including cooperation with other governments.
